    Job Details
  • Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department.
  • Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
  • Follow standards of safe radiation practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and be a role model for other associate technologists.
  • Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assure current standards of practice for the unit.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
  • Practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing exposure to ALARA.
  • Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepare patient for exam and provide information and instruction to patient and/or family.
  • Assist the patient during exam and position the patient.
  • Observe patient and equipment during procedure and report/document unusual occurrences and patient condition.
  • Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
  • Communicate in writing and verbally with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
  • Assist with patient transport as needed.
  • Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
  • Perform technologist duties of other registered modality as assigned by management.
  • Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department/facility policy.
  • Input charges and required data for procedures and supplies utilized during exam.
  • Complete required hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam performed.
  • Prepare room, equipment, and exam materials needed for exam.
  • Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment problems and log service calls per department procedure.
  • Maintain clean work area for employees and patients.
  • Maintain quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation per department procedure.
  • Be proactive in problem identification and follow up with management personnel.
  • Establish motivating, constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments.
  • Maintain high skill level through ongoing education and meeting attendance; share information with staff.
  • Participate in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.
  • Engage in professional activities through organizations, journal clubs, online education, etc.
  • Actively participate in department/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to ACR accreditation as requested.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload to meet productivity requirements.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.
    Job Requirements
  • Minimum one year of related experience.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic imaging procedures safely and accurately.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety practices and ALARA principles.
  • Ability to perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
  • Ability to provide on-call coverage outside standard scheduled hours as needed.
  • Ability to perform technologist duties of other registered modalities as assigned.
    Additional Details
  • Float may be required to any Centura location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or Centura-identified "float zone".
  • Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements (including skill set) in accordance with Centura policy.
