Job Description:
Operate CT scanners to obtain high-quality diagnostic images of specified body parts with minimal supervision. The technologist must ensure quality imaging for radiologist interpretation and maintain safety and professionalism throughout patient care.
Job Responsibilities: - Greet patients and verify identity (name and birthdate)
- Collect relevant patient history, including allergies, medications, and documentation
- Explain procedures clearly to ensure patient understanding
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff
- Position patients and perform scans per protocol
- Administer IV contrast using proper venipuncture techniques
- Label and document medications per hospital policy
- Verify and reconcile patient medications
- Assist physicians with invasive procedures when needed
- Use radiation protection and safety measures at all times
- Properly store and wear dosimeter; change monthly
- Support fall/injury prevention and safe patient handling
- Assist with other imaging modalities and workflow tasks
Skills Required: - Proficiency in medical terminology, sterile techniques
- Experience with patient positioning and imaging equipment
- Strong communication and workflow efficiency
Preferred Experience: - Minimum of 2 years CT experience
- Familiarity with:
- Philips CT scanners
- Bracco injectors
- EPIC (EMR)
- McKesson PACS
- Exam types: Cardiac, TAVR, CTA, Code Stroke, HD, CAP, Spine
Education Requirements: - Graduation from ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
Certifications & Licensure: - ARRT (CT Registered) - Required
- Ohio Radiographer License - Required
- BLS (AHA) - Required
