    Job Details
  • Perform routine and specialized examinations in the specialty area of CT, adapt procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results; prepare patients for examinations.
  • Requires independent judgment to adapt procedures to obtain specific diagnostic results under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Perform procedures ensuring accurate and complete examination within guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging for patients of all ages.
  • Maintain working knowledge of equipment to function in all aspects of CT.
  • Exhibit competency in performing and filming CT radiographic and specialized procedures.
  • Deviate from routines when patient's condition requires or at radiologist's request.
  • Knowledgeable of invasive procedures, sterile tray setup, assisting radiologist, catheters and guidewires, ordering labs and pathology tests, scheduling procedures.
  • Obtain and document accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable.
  • Follow JCAHO patient safety goals.
  • Maintain quality care throughout the procedure.
  • Technically knowledgeable of equipment operation including hardware and software, CT 1, CT 2, workstation, printers.
  • Perform reasonable troubleshooting.
  • Check and observe equipment for safety, maintenance, and appropriate operation.
  • Report equipment problems through appropriate channels.
  • Maintain clean work area, check and stock supplies and verify pertinent accessories assigned to the room.
  • Perform support functions of Medical Imaging department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met.
  • Promptly process films and paperwork according to proper procedures to ensure timely turnaround for physician's office.
  • Maintain and coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient and expedient patient care, transport patients as required.
  • Complete all fields in HIS STAR Radiology system accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain and ensure a safe environment for patients and personnel and maintenance of QA, QC, QI programs.
  • Demonstrate practical problem solving for patient moving and handling issues.
  • Promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.
  • Assume personal responsibility for training fellow technologists/students and use resources productively to promote responsive and cost effective care.
  • Share knowledge, guide and encourage fellow technologists/students with proper department protocol and procedures.
  • Display professional attitude toward fellow technologists/students fostering mutual respect and productive learning environment.
