Job Title: Imaging Technologist SUMMARY The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibilitysatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of theknowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to thefollowing) Produce high quality x-ray images of specifiedbody areas as directed by the physician or radiologist. Provide proper radiation protection measures. Working with the hospital or clinic EMR s togenerate and complete exam orders. Work well with other departments to improvepatient and staff experiences. Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order tomake judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintainaccuracy and precision. Maintain a safe and efficient workingenvironment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoringtemperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies. Regular attendance, including clocking in andout at scheduled times and minimal unplanned time off. Transporting patients Knowledge of PACS systems,releasing/transmitting images. Perform x-ray procedures using portable machineas requested by Emergency Department and Nursing units. (Not applicable forclinic imaging tech) Recommend process improvements for increasedefficiencies. Display and promote company values. Inform appropriate personnel of departmentsupply needs ensuring uninterrupted testing. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Completion of a JRCERT approved radiologicaltraining program or equivalent, required Current registration by American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT), required Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice,required BLS, required CT accreditation for specified radiologictechnologist SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to maintain safe and effective patient care. Strong written and verbal communications skills with prevalent professional demeanor. Ability to use active listening skills to interpret the needs of the patient. Ability to mentor, train, motivates, direct and empowers team. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Ability to work independently. Flexibility in schedule. Willing to adjust hours, as needed. Willing to cover other shifts Highly motivated. Ability to work in fast paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment. Able to triage situations to complete tasks. Effective time management. Analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Exhibit sound and accurate judgement. Shift: M-F, no weekend, flexible hours 30 hours per week (3-10's)
