    Job Details
  • Performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
  • Performs complex CT procedures.
  • Uses professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patient's clinical history for procedures, ensuring information is documented and scanned into PACS.
  • Prepares, screens and reviews the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with patient and/or family member and scans into EPIC.
  • Identifies and/or administers contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Reviews the patient prescription to verify appropriateness of exam and communicates with Radiologist and Referring Physician if needed.
  • Responsible for calling physicians to clarify the prescription in accordance with CT protocols.
  • Verifies insurance authorized exam script and sends exam modification forms to Finance for insurance re-verification.
  • Obtains outside studies (CD) and schedules them in EPIC so CD and reports are available in PACS for Radiologists.
  • Provides exam copies to patient and requesting physician and/or family member.
  • Evaluates radiographs using PACS System to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Uses appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical record, significant others and health care providers to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
  • Determines patient preparation for procedure including shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Determines appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered.
  • Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and addresses and documents patient questions and concerns.
  • Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to guidelines.
  • Monitors patient's physical condition for adverse reactions during procedure.
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends, overtime as needed, and on call assignments per Department of Radiology policy.
  • Adheres to policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
  • Lifts minimum 25 lbs., pushes and pulls minimum 50 lbs., and stands minimum 6 hours a day.
  • Identifies needs of patient population and modifies and delivers care specific to those needs including communication at appropriate developmental/age, educational, literacy levels.
  • Adheres to Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
    Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body.
  • Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware.
  • Thorough knowledge of PACS system.
  • Maintains CEU Credits.
  • Team members must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months following hire date.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire date.
    Schedule Information
  • Scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care.
  • On call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
    Additional Details
  • Preferred six months CT experience.
  • Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS system added by the hospital.
