    Job Details
  • Critical care registered nurses provide care for patients with heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, respiratory distress, or other severe medical issues.
  • Duties include assessing patient condition, planning and implementing care plans, treating wounds, providing advanced life support, assisting physicians, observing and recording vital signs, managing medical equipment, administering IV fluids and medications, suctioning, collaborating with care team, responding to life-saving situations, acting as patient advocate, and educating patient families.
  • May care for pre- and post-operative patients, serve as case managers, policy makers, or perform administrative duties.
    Job Requirements
  • 3 years recent ICU experience required.
  • Must have ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
  • Must have ventilator/tracheostomy experience, knowledge of central lines, and preferred wound care experience.
  • Must have Texas or multi-state compact RN license.
    Unit Specific Information
  • ICU unit experience required.
  • Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required.
  • Knowledge of central lines and wound care preferred.
    Additional Details
  • Candidate may need to float to lower unit depending on facility census.
  • Willingness to precept/coach existing ICU staff requested.
