open Endoscopy Tech position at Boise Hospital - Ground Floor Endoscopy Unit, currently accepting candidates through the MedSol Prescreen/Manager Interview process.
Candidate Requirements - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of hospital-based inpatient endoscopy experience (no first-time travelers)
- Accepted Backgrounds:
- CSTs with endo experience
- ONLY RECENT 2 YEARS Endo techs with valid CNA, EMT, or MA certification
Position Information Department: Endoscopy - Tech
Unit Location: Boise Hospital, Ground Floor
of Suites: 3 procedural suites; also support cases in Main OR, CVOR, and ICU
Average Cases/Day: 20-30
- Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory):
- Familiarity with advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures (ERCP, EUS, EBUS)
- Pediatric experience
- Scope cleaning
Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibility is to scrub endoscopy cases
- May assist in any area within the Endoscopy Unit
- Cases involve a broad patient population (Pediatrics to Geriatrics)
- Common procedures include:
- EGD, Colonoscopy, foreign body removal, impactions
- Advanced procedures: ERCP (with stent placement/removal), pancreatic and lung biopsies, SpyGlass procedures
- Some cases in collaboration with Interventional Radiology
Team & Support Structure - Charge RN and Lead Endo Tech on shift
- 2 CNAs support Pre/Post-op areas
- Anesthesia: CRNAs and general anesthesia available; RNs also administer moderate sedation/propofol
Scheduling & Call - Shift: Four 9-hour shifts; start times between 7:00-8:00 AM
- Weeknight Call: 1 night/week (end of shift to start of next shift)
- Holiday Call: May rotate into the holiday call schedule
- Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Additional Information - Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided
- Floating: Rare, but may occasionally float to Nampa or Meridian facilities (specialty roles or sitter coverage)
- Orientation: 3-4 shifts with a designated preceptor
- Facility Radius Rule: Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; permanent address is required in submission to confirm eligibility
