Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assemble, check, and arrange surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and equipment needed for cardiovascular procedures.
- Set up heart-lung machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and other CVOR-specific equipment (often done with perfusionists or specialists).

- Ensure all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
- Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to the surgeon efficiently.
- Handle cardiovascular-specific instruments such as vascular clamps, sternal saws, and vein harvesters.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to enhance efficiency and reduce time under anesthesia.
