Job Title: Cath Lab Technician
Standard shift: Days
Weekly schedule: 4x10
Schedule Notes: Primarily Days with some late night (evenings) and on call/call per unit needs. Description: Cardiac Cath/EP Lab Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
Also known as Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), certified technicians who assist with invasive cardiac procedures.
The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) will prepare the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures including the setup of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
They must be able to anticipate equipment required during procedures, operate quipment, and maintain sterile instruments.
Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) 's will be required to function in multiple roles of the procedure team including scrub, circulator, and documenter/monitor. Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related field
Completion of an accredited Cath Lab or CVT program Licensing/Certification:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or ARRT (prefers ARRT)
New York State License as a Radiologic Technologist (if RT-based)
BLS and ACLS certifications (required) Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology setting preferred
Experience in Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions, CTO, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, Vascular Interventions, RotoPro, LVADs, AngioVac, FlowTriever.
Mechanical Circulatory Support Experience Required: ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo
Structural Heart experience with TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO, ASD, VSD, Valvuloplasty.
Critical care or Cardiac Experience Required.
