Responsible and accountable for the delivery of all cardiology service modalities according to the Cardiovascular Medicine clinic.
Provides direct patient care relative to the department organizational policies and procedures, which may include but are not limited to: ECG, echocardiograms, stress echoes, ECG stress test, monitoring, vascular studies, etc.
Instructs and assists the patient in preparation for testing and/or procedures according to the needs of the patient population. Qualifications:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Certification Requirements:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required. Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification required. Experience:
Knowledge of office equipment and basic computer skills required (fax, multi-line phone, copier/scanner).
Knowledge of Cerner desirable.
Knowledge of an electronic health record required.
