Job Details - The Associate Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Nursing Department.
- Acts for the Director of Nursing in Director's absence.
- Acts as liaison between hospital and outside agencies, i.e. Fire Department, Con Edison, Brooklyn Union Gas, Building Department, and State Health Department.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates all clinical care services provided by the unit, as well as all associated administrative operations and activities.
- Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff.
- Reviews, establishes, and maintains patient care protocols and standards, ensuring that all federal and state policies, regulations, and guidelines for patient care are met.
- Establishes and coordinates quality improvement, safety, and infection control programs.
- Oversees the overall operations of the unit(s) reporting to this position.
- Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Job Requirements - Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience and minimum three (3) years administrative experience.
- Must have minimum two (2) years of Infection Control or Quality Improvement experience.
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workers.
- Must be trained in and knowledgeable of all Kingsbrook/Rutland policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous waste and hazardous materials and maintain qualifications applicable to assigned work.
- Knowledge of all codes and demonstrate understanding.
Additional Details - Ability to work in surroundings with degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort.
- Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend and stretch.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time at desk to perform job functions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time at required patient bedside and/or procedural areas.
Compensation Information:
Starting at $3457.00 / weekly
