    Job Details
  • Responsible for developing, achieving, and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department's daily operations.
  • Consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
  • Collaboratively works with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
  • Will assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
  • Operationalized when nurse manager span of control (headcount) is greater than 70.
  • Works evening, nights and weekend with limited time on day shift to supplement the nurse manager role (procedural area exception with ANM accountable for service lines or O.R. board).
  • Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
  • Support daily staffing plan matching competency with patient acuity.
  • Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Encourage associate participation in decision through shared governance structure.
  • Develop an understanding around the importance of relationships and support team dynamics by role modeling professional behavior.
  • Support professional development to improve associate retention.
  • Support change management.
  • Promote and support a healthy work environment.
  • Focus on personal growth and development through involvement in professional associations and/or advancing education.
  • Know and understand your role within the leadership team of the unit/department.
  • Problem solve and allow time to reflect on decisions
    Job Requirements
  • 2 years clinical RN experience required.
  • 6 months clinical leadership preferred.
    Schedule Information
  • Works evening, nights and weekend with limited time on day shift.
    Additional Details
  • Floating may be required to any CommonSpirit location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or CommonSpirit-identified "float zone".
  • Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements (including skill set) in accordance with CommonSpirit policy.
