Trauma Surgeon Opening in Michigan
Location: Saginaw, MI
Position Overview:
A respected academic medical institution in Mid-Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Trauma Surgeon with training in Surgical Critical Care to join its growing faculty team. This full-time role combines clinical excellence with educational leadership, contributing to the training of residents and medical students in both ambulatory and hospital settings.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of physicians while delivering high-quality care to a diverse and medically underserved population.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide trauma and surgical critical care services in a hospital-based setting
Participate in resident and medical student education through rounds, lectures, and mentorship
Support the academic mission through scholarly activity and research initiatives
Conduct faculty clinic and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Contribute to the development of academic programs and clinical quality improvement
Serve in administrative and leadership roles as needed within the department

Candidate Requirements:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Completion of fellowship in Surgical Critical Care
Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and SCC
Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Michigan
Controlled Substance license required
Previous teaching, leadership, or administrative experience is a plus
Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine and underserved populations
