ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Everett Transit is a dynamic group of people providing transportation to an exciting and growing community.
About the Job: Perform responsible varied office support work of above average difficulty for the City's Transportation Services Department, primarily in the department's Customer Service Center at Everett Station. The work in this classification is typically performed without specific instructions and requiring considerable knowledge of office support functions at entry. The work in this class is characterized by substantial customer service responsibilities related to the City's transit services, and various office support tasks requiring the operation of computers and the utilization of various software programs, preparing and maintaining spreadsheets and similar computer support activities standard to the area of assignment. The work is often performed under deadline situations with infrequent supervision and requires the ability to independently prioritize work. The work environment involves multiple ongoing demands, including ongoing clerical tasks, interactions with customers, phone calls, cashiering and cash handling, and email messages. Assignments require constant interaction with the public, and may require considerable liaison with other employees, departments, or agencies. Results of work performed impacts the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the assigned work area, as well as the accuracy, reliability, and acceptability of its processes or services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - Successful completion of course work or training in modern office principles and practices which include formal computer training AND at least two years general office support experience which included public contact and required utilization of computers OR
- Any equivalent combination that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

EXAMINATION STEPS - The Supplemental Questions answers will be blind rated (weighed 30%).
- A limited number of the top-qualifying applicants will be called for an in person practical exam (weighted 70%) tentatively scheduled during early June 2025.
- All vacancies in this job class will be filled from the ranked Civil Service register established from the examination process.
IMPORTANT NOTES - A passing grade of 70.00 or higher is required on all parts of the screening process for placement on the ranked Civil Service eligible register.
- The examination process is designed to sample and measure the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Applicants claiming veterans' preference points in accordance with RCW 41.04.010 as amended and meeting eligibility criteria must submit form DD214 or other official military separation documentation that clearly indicates an honorable discharge from military service on or before the date filing closes.

Premiums for Life, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage on behalf of the employee are paid by the City.
An additional life insurance benefit is available through a
Voluntary Life insurance program for the employee, spouse and children. The employee pays the premiums for this benefit.
It is mandatory that both the City and the employee pay into the
Department of Retirement Systems for Washington State.
Three voluntary
Deferred Compensation programs are available for employee participation.

Flexible Spending Plan is available that allows you to make pre-tax contributions for Health Care reimbursement and/or Dependent Care reimbursement for eligible expenses not covered by medical insurance.
Employees are responsible for their own
