REMOTE TRANSPORTATION SALES EXECUTIVE

MAY NEED TO REPORT TO THE OFFICE IN EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ PERIODICALLY

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Transportation Sales Executive to join our growing logistics team. This role will focus on driving sales and developing new business within the domestic transportation sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Full Truckload (FTL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), and various other domestic shipping modes. You will be responsible for prospecting, closing, and managing customer relationships in a fast-paced and competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Sales Growth & Strategy:

    • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the domestic transportation market, including FTL, LTL, Flatbed, etc. and all other shipping modes.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients to foster long-term partnerships.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of trends and maximize sales potential.

  • Account Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their transportation needs are met with precision and efficiency.
    • Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of shipments and resolve any customer concerns promptly.

  • Revenue & Quota Achievement:

    • Meet or exceed established sales targets, focusing on growing revenue and increasing market share in domestic transportation.
    • Develop and present proposals and pricing strategies that align with customer requirements and business goals.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to deliver superior customer experiences.
    • Provide insights and feedback on customer needs, pricing, and market trends to improve service offerings.

  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system, including sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status.
    • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasting, and other relevant documentation for management.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Experience:

    • 3 years of experience in domestic transportation sales, specifically with FTL, LTL, and other shipping modes.
    • Proven track record of sales success and meeting/exceeding sales targets.

  • Industry Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of the domestic transportation market, including pricing structures, regulations, and trends.
    • Familiarity with logistics software, CRM systems, and transportation management systems (TMS).

  • Communication:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to clients and negotiate effectively.
    • Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-first mentality.

  • Problem-Solving:

    • Ability to think critically and resolve issues related to transportation logistics and customer concerns.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and/or TMS platforms.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with a variety of domestic carriers and freight partners.
  • Familiarity with pricing and quoting processes for FTL, LTL dry van, refrigerated, etc. and other shipment modes.

Compensation:


  • Base Salary: $70,000.00 - $125,000.00
  • Commission Structure: Competitive commission plan based on revenue generated and sales targets met.
  • Bonus/Incentives: Quarterly and annual performance-based bonuses.
