What is my role?
As a Transportation Logistics Analyst, you'll be at the heart of optimizing our transportation processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions across our global supply chain. Your role will directly impact key areas such as global sourcing, import logistics, carrier coordination, and delivery, all of which are crucial to maintaining high customer satisfaction and supporting business growth. What You'll Do
Global Transportation & Material Flow:
- Work closely with internal teams (sourcing, production, and demand planning) to forecast and align transportation with global product launch schedules and seasonal fluctuations in international markets.
- Collaborate with global sourcing teams to ensure timely and efficient transportation solutions for products manufactured in key international hubs (eg, China, Bangladesh, etc.).
Logistics Coordinator:
- Partner with Supply Chain Production to ensure seamless execution of Import & Domestic Logistics
- Coordinate international shipments from key manufacturing hubs (eg, China, Bangladesh) to distribution centers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery for both global retail and e-commerce.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of required documentation for international shipping, including customs paperwork and import/export compliance documents.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance, delivery timeliness, and cost efficiency.
- Provide logistics performance reports, tracking costs, KPIs, and compliance metrics across various regions.
- Recommend process improvements based on data insights to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the transportation network.
Speed & Agility in Logistics:
- Ensure that all shipments (air, ocean, and ground transport) adhere to strict timelines to meet deadlines (including for fashion season drops and global market entry).
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce lead times and improve overall logistics performance in the face of rapid market changes.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors and third-party logistics providers.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure high-quality service and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
Problem Solving:
- Address and resolve transportation-related challenges, such as delays, disruptions, or logistical bottlenecks.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions to complex transportation problems.
Transportation Optimization:
- Support the implementation of transportation strategies to improve global efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer expectations in multiple regions.
- Continuously optimize delivery schedules for timely, cost-effective distribution across international markets.
Carrier Selection & Freight Management:
- Strategically select and negotiate with carriers, including trucking companies, freight services, and parcel couriers, to secure competitive pricing and superior service levels.
Route Planning & Scheduling:
- Oversee and continuously improve route planning and vehicle scheduling to enhance fleet efficiency, minimize delays, and optimize resource utilization.
Shipment Tracking & Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor shipment progress, addressing disruptions such as delays or reroutes to maintain service reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Support the implementation of logistics software and partner integrations for Real Time tracking and visibility.
Customer Support & Issue Resolution:
- Handle customer inquiries and proactively resolve transportation-related issues to ensure seamless delivery experience.
Seasonal Fast Fashion Logistics & Retail/E-Commerce:
- Manage peak season logistics and global demand forecasting to ensure on-time delivery across retail and E-commerce channels.
What You'll Need
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in transportation logistics, ideally within the apparel, fashion, or retail sectors.
Core Skills:
- Strong understanding of the fast-paced nature of the fashion industry and the ability to manage rapid, global supply chains.
- In-depth knowledge of customs and trade regulations impacting apparel imports and exports.
- Proficient in negotiation and vendor management, particularly in international shipping.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software (eg, SAP, Oracle, or fashion logistics platforms).
- An ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-evolving environment with a focus on both speed and cost.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and managing large datasets (eg, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Strong analytics skills to interpret logistics data, identify trends, optimize transportation processes, and generate actionable insights.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in a fast fashion or retail environment with a global scope.
- Knowledge of sustainable logistics practices and eco-friendly supply chain solutions.
- Proficiency in additional languages (depending on the regions the company serves).
- Experience with RFID technology for inventory and transportation tracking.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess complex logistics data and derive meaningful insights.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Expertise in international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping practices.
- Communication & Teamwork:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience with freight forwarding, shipping, or customs brokerage.
- Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices in logistics.
