SUMMARY

Paragon Professional Services, LLC, is currently seeking a highly qualified Transportation Coordinator to support three site locations in the New England area (Burlington MA, Harford CT and Manchester NH). This position reports directly to the Project Manager of Paragon Professional Services. Travel may be required. Wage/Salary $39 - $42 / hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.


• Provide scheduling support and coordination of detainee transports as directed by ICE, in a timely manner in order to ensure all detainees are delivered to proper destinations.


• Serve as SureBus Administrator.


• Serve as Motive Administrator for CDL drivers; ensure that Electronic Driver Logs are properly maintained by Transportation Officers and correct any reported violations.


• Assist Fleet Services Manager with the administration of the EZPass transponder system as needed.


• Oversee compliance with all USDOT/FMCSA rules and regulations regarding the transport of passengers; monitoring TO Hours of Service ensuring duty day does not exceed 15 hours with no more than 10 hours driving time; ensure no more than 70 hours in an 8 consecutive day period.


• Ensure through Site Supervisors that all Transportation Officers perform transport duties per PBNDS.


• Maintain up-to-date staff rosters, containing full name, DOB, SSN, address, phone number, emergency notification/phone, email, certifications/licenses and expiration dates.


• In conjunction with Site Supervisors/Schedulers, plot appropriate routes to transport destinations.


• Ensure, through supervisors, that any required detainee documentation is provided to the Transportation Officers prior to departure.


• Ensure through supervisors, that all detail paperwork is correct and submitted to the Invoice Administrator in a timely manner.


• Respond to any/all incidents occurring on shift. Supervise preparation of required incident, injury or accident reports, ensuring the DPM/SPM/COR is notified of all serious incidents involving injury, attempted escape, escape, use of force, etc.


• Coordinate with the Fleet Services Manager, that any safety related transportation issues are addressed immediately and that any equipment with a safety issue is removed from service until repairs are completed.


• Ensure, through supervisors, that the appropriate number of officers are onboard each transport and present for each shift.


• Ensure, through site supervisors, that Transportation Officers detailed to hospital duties are relieved upon shift change.


• Review disciplinary recommendations/reports submitted by Site Supervisors and submit to Deputy Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager as required.


• Monitor driver's license program, ensuring all drivers complete any DOT required examinations and licenses are renewed in timely manner.


• In conjunction with the Fleet Services Manager and Training Coordinator, coordinate the issuance of firearms and non-lethal weapons (NLW) to all Transportation Officers.


• Monitor guard and weapons certifications/licenses are current and renewed in a timely manner.


• Performs annual DOT Clearinghouse checks on all CDL drivers.


• Assist with annual DMV checks on all employees assigned to the contract.


• Verify, through site supervisors, that the Transportation Officers are carrying their driver's license, medical certificate and weapons permits prior to departure.


• Ensure compliance with USDOT and state DOT regulations for driver physicals, annual tests, random drug screens, and driver documentation in accordance with the Transport Manual.


• Ensure, through Training Coordinator that all Transportation Officers complete all required annual training to maintain their qualifications and licenses.


• Investigate all accidents, incidents, injuries related to transportation function; file reports with site management and the following corporate personnel - Safety Manager, QC Manager and Security Operations Manager.


• Prepare annual performance appraisals for all subordinate supervisory staff.


• Attend management meetings as requested by the Project Manager.


• Ability to travel periodically to conduct site visits and assist the Operations Manager.


• Must be available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)

  • Current Public Trust Clearance


• High School Diploma / GED. Associate's degree or certification in any of these related fields Criminal Justice, Business Management, Human Resources); or at least 5 years of related industry experience and have knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures for government contract billing and human resources. Degree requirements may be met by work experience or the completion of a career development program that includes work related experience and training.

  • Must maintain an active cellphone to receive assignments and maintain communication with co-workers and supervisory staff.
  • Valid Driver's License for the State you reside in.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite programs such as WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance and DoD Secret or higher clearance.
  • Ability to monitor/assess performance of self, other individuals, and organizations to make improvements or task corrective action.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.


Preferred


• Possession of a valid Wear Carry Permit for the site-specific state.


• Possession of a valid Security Guard Certification for the site-specific state.


• Possession of a valid Driver's License or valid Commercial Driver's License for the state you reside in


• Possession of a USDOT Medical Card (for CDL license holders only)


• Current federal background investigation and access or ability to obtain.


• Active Public Trust clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
