Videos Help Duties The incumbent works with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program. The coordination of transportation function is multi-faceted and diverse. The three major areas of responsibility are: (1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; (2) Consult Management responsibilities; (3) Program Support responsibilities. The incumbent must have knowledge of clinical services, related software and programs as they relate to clinical computing and office automation. Major duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: Communicates and interacts with all customers in a manner which is appropriate to cognitive, emotional, and chronological maturation needs In accordance with VA policy and ICARE program. Schedules/Arranges all modes of transportation via air ambulance, commercial air, taxi, ambulance, bus, and/or contracted transport services. Correctly determining which of several fund control points to utilize, obligating funds, maintaining manual and electronic accounting records, performing regular reconciliations and adjusting account balances. Process receipts, deposits, and withdrawals for Patient Funds in Veterans Personal Finance System. Utilizes and maintains control of internal filing system for beneficial travel/patient funds in accordance with National VA and Fiscal regulations. Responsible to review for accuracy and process Beneficiary Travel claims for the purposes of reimbursing Veterans for Travel to and from VA and Community Providers medical appointments by utilizing BTSSS and multiple software packages, also involves face to face contact with patients, families and multiple community outpatient clinics. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/22/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support Consult Management responsibilities Program Support responsibilities Knowledge of clinical services, related software and programs as they relate to clinical computing and office automation. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require movement between offices, hospitals, warehouses, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking/standing, in conjunctions with travel to and attendance at meetings and/or conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry and lift light items weighing less than 15 pounds. Additional information Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
