Description
- Supervise and coordinate the storage, distribution and transport of goods from suppliers to customers.
- Ensure compliance with safety and legal regulations.
- Manage relationships with logistics service providers.
- Implement and oversee operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and warehouse activities.
- Identify and implement optimal route planning.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
- Administer the dispatch process.
- Liaise with drivers to coordinate transport plans.
Profile
A successful Logistics and Distribution Controller should have:
- Previous experience working within a Transport/Logistics role.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers and customers.
- Analytical mind with problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
