Transformational Managing Attorney - Lead, Inspire, and Drive Excellence

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Managing Attorney to oversee the operations of our law firm. In this role, you will combine strategic leadership with hands-on legal work, managing a team of 25+ employees while billing 15+ hours per week. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our firm by improving team performance, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring excellence across all practice areas.


Our firm is one of the fastest growing law firms in the country (4th fastest based on 2024's Inc. 5000 results based on last year's performance). We currently have a team of 30 and expect to reach 75 employees and expand into one other state before the end of the year. We have won numerous prestigious awards, including the Denver Business Journal's Best Places to Work and numerous awards for best Business Law Firm , Best Civil Litigation Firm (2024), and Best Criminal Law Firm (2025). Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Inspire and mentor attorneys and staff to achieve professional growth and exceptional results.
  • Conduct high-energy meetings that motivate the team and drive alignment with firm goals.
  • Resolve conflicts effectively while fostering collaboration and morale.
  • Legal Oversight:
  • Manage and oversee cases across multiple practice areas, ensuring quality representation for clients.
  • Provide strategic guidance on litigation matters, including trial preparation and courtroom strategy.
  • Have a thorough understanding of our practice areas in order to effectively manage their work (business, real estate, estate planning, criminal, and personal injury).
  • Oversee conflicts and risk management to ensure compliance with ethical standards and firm policies.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Monitor team performance using KPIs and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures while maintaining efficiency in workflows.
  • Client Service:
  • Uphold the firm's commitment to delivering outstanding client experiences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and expertise.
  • Billing & Casework:
  • Contribute 15+ billable hours per week while managing your leadership responsibilities effectively.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years as a practicing attorney.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a managing attorney in a law firm overseeing teams of 25+ employees.
  • Extensive litigation experience, including multiple trials within the last 5 years.
  • Foundational knowledge across all major practice areas handled by the firm.
  • Proven success in improving team performance through empathetic, yet results-driven leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing teams of 150+ employees.
  • Experience with law firm intake/sales processes.
  • Bi-lingual proficiency (Spanish preferred).
  • Established business development network or strong reputation within the Denver community.
  • Familiarity with legal software and data-driven decision-making.
