Job Summary Lead development and on-going management of Sales Field Trainer Program across all sales forces. The field training program is an integrated part of Medline's sales rep training process.
The program serves two critical purposes in the sales rep training and development strategy:
(1) Enable new rep onboarding via defined 1:1 field-based trainer coaching relationship and curriculum
(2) Lead the curriculum strategy and execution to train a bench of field trainers (and pipeline of future sales managers).
This role is responsible for working closely with Sales Leadership and business partners across the organization to ensure the needs of strategic and logistical operations of Field Trainer program are successfully met.
Job Description MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: - Partner with Sales leadership to manage, create and implement Field Training program.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership, HR and Compliance to qualify new and existing field trainers.
- Schedule and facilitate onboarding of newly added Field Trainers either in quarterly group training or ad hoc one on one training.
- Facilitate all Trainer and Trainee pairings for new hires across all sales forces, maintains accurate database of approved field trainers and provides quarterly updates to sales leadership.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of Field Training program including - maintain connections, ensuring milestones are being completed by both trainer and trainee, Reviewing feedback from Field Trainer for completion and quality of reporting, coordinate with sales comp and payroll to initiate payment to field trainers upon completion.
- Point of contract for all program and support needs for Field Trainer Program.
- Defines and maintains technology and curriculum vendor relationship with for continued program optimization.
- Collaborates with sales training and cross-functional teams to develop curriculum, milestones and performance measurement plans that are integrated with overall sales training (i.e. onboarding/Phase) and sales development programs.
- Identify and scale best practices, working toward a standardized approach, rubrics and nomenclature/definitions for Field Progress Reports across all classes of trade to enable consistency and accountability.
- This is a high-level individual contributor role - management responsibilities limited to leading day-to-day activities and outcomes of a group of employees.
- May be involved in hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: - Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
Work Experience: - At least 7 years overall field sales experience.
- Experience in coaching and development, difficult and impactful conversations as demonstrated through a formal field sales trainer role and responsibility.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: - CRM, reporting and quoting systems experience.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
- Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).
- Demonstrated skill controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills required to collect and analyze data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Position requires travel up to % of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS: Work Experience: - Experience managing sales professionals.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: - Ability to manage through influence and not direct authority.
- Experience with Medline's CRM, reporting and quoting systems.
