ST2 (DDGX, FFGX, Mobile Training Team) position to work at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC to support NAVSEA. YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE Position Description: Serve as a Training Instructor/Specialist supporting the Navy's Surface Ship Training Program within the Surface Training Systems Program Office. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of over 40 training professionals to assist in the development and delivery of comprehensive training solutions. The Program Office is responsible for the strategic planning, policy formulation, research and development, acquisition, technical integration, and life-cycle management of training platforms. Its mission is to ensure U.S. Navy Sailors receive consistent, aligned, and effective training to maintain operational readiness and professional competency. Responsibilities and Duties: As a Training Instructor/Specialist, you will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You will deliver instructions to students on key skills required to assess, troubleshoot, and operate systems following established specifications. Training will focus on Steering and Thrust Control Watchstation operations, system alignment procedures following the Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS), adherence to technical publication guidance, and the application of Sound Shipboard Operating Principles and Procedures. Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in any Discipline or 7+ years of relevant naval experience 5+ years of professional experience in curriculum development Navy Instructor Experience Must have knowledge in one or more of the following: Ship Control System Navigation Mechanical Steering Systems Command Control Communications Computers & Intelligence (C4I) Electronic Cooling Water Systems 400 hertz Aegis Computer Network Technician I/II, SPY Vertical Launching System Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube Preferred / Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or Navy Training Systems discipline 7+ years of professional experience in curriculum development Navy Instructor Experience Travel Requirements: Limited travel to the continental United States (primarily east and west coasts) Limited / Occasional overseas travel The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard, and the government is providing workspace for 75% of the contractors. The contractor workforce will also be located in and around the Washington, DC area. Some telework may be possible with customer coordination, and off-site field work will be required at Navy facility locations. The Training Specialist may occasionally have to travel to fleet training areas.
