What You Will Do: The Manager Trainee position is a full-time, entry-level role designed to prep you for a leadership position within 84 Lumber. This role includes hands-on training across all aspects of store operations, with the potential for promotion within the first 6-12 months depending on performance and availability of positions. Most Manager Trainees advance to General Manager roles within 3-4 years. Commitment to complete training modules and a willingness to relocate for management roles is essential.
No prior experience is required; simply bring your dedication and eagerness to learn, and we will provide the necessary support.
Your structured training plan will cover:
- Sales and Customer Service: Assisting customers and driving sales in a retail environment.
- Store Operations and Inventory Management: Managing material flow, stock, and merchandising.
- Blueprint Reading and Estimation: Creating material estimates for construction projects.
- Forklift Operation and Certification: Ensuring safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Business Management: Managing payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial reports.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Enhancing your skills through comprehensive training.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, catering to customers under various weather conditions. Physical activities include frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 80 pounds), as well as potentially working around machinery and airborne particles.
