Job Description

Join AECOM - A Global Leader in Transit Systems Engineering

AECOM is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Baltimore, Maryland. As a mid-level Train Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering advanced Train Control solutions-including Solid State Interlocking and Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC)-to support the Maryland Transit Administration (MD MTA). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge transit infrastructure projects while working alongside industry experts in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure contractor compliance with processes, procedures, and contractual requirements for Train Control systems.
  • Review Automatic Train Control (ATC) requirements, designs, test procedures, and results, providing expert feedback aligned with contract standards and industry best practices.
  • Analyze and document test results, identify issues, and evaluate corrective actions during field testing.
  • Investigate and resolve engineering problems in the field, offering practical solutions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate new tools and processes to enhance system performance.
  • Perform detailed engineering tasks, calculations, and tests under moderate supervision.
  • Identify discrepancies in engineering results and propose effective solutions.
  • Support project delivery within agreed budgets and schedules.
Qualifications

Minimum:
  • BS Electrical Engineering
  • 4 years of electrical systems engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred:
  • Light rail electrical systems design
  • MTA project experience
Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $115,000.00.
