An opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Signals Engineer to join a busy client in Kent. This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is negotiable for the right candidate. Flexible working arrangements are available.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of Traffic Signal workstreams.
Maintaining traffic signals infrastructure and traffic systems across the area.
Supporting the day to day operation and monitoring of traffic signal systems, including UTC.
Fault monitoring, investigation, reporting and tracking.
Overseeing fault repair and resolution.
Reviewing and providing technical input to highway projects involving traffic signal infrastructure.
Assessing technical specifications and proposal to ensure they are acceptable.
Reviewing and interpreting capacity assessments and junction design outputs.
Project managing traffic signal projects and works as Client representative.
To apply technical expertise and make recommendations when assessing and approving technical drawings and associated documentation.
To liaise with and advise internal and external partners in relation to traffic signal matters.
Supervising the work of Assistant Engineers and technical staff.
Provide specialist advice and coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the Traffic Signals service area, supporting the Senior Engineer - Traffic Signals and Systems.
About you:
You must have:
Knowledge of UK traffic signals, associated systems and methods of control.
Traffic signal design principles.
Design of signalised standalone pedestrian crossings - Pelicans, Puffins and Toucans.
Traffic signal design guidance on junctions, including roundabouts and gyratory systems.
Highway and traffic engineering principles.
Project Management principles.
Highway engineering software packages.
Awareness of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.
