Your Mission:
The Trade Compliance Specialist will ensure adherence to international trade regulations and optimize compliance and duty savings processes. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing import/export activities, mitigating risks, supporting global trade operations and provide strategic insights on trade agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as 1st level of support for operational trade compliance within the NAM region and its entities
- Analyze and interpret Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to determine eligibility for preferential duty treatment
- Conduct HTS classification and country-of-origin determinations for imported and exported goods.
- Maintain compliance with customs regulations and trade laws across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
- Monitor changes in trade policies and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and maximize benefits.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documents to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other relevant authorities.
- Support audits and investigations related to trade compliance and duty recovery.
- Utilize trade data analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify and address compliance gaps.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
- Respond to trade compliance issues or violations and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and advise management on potential impacts
- Oversee implementation of key Import/Export compliance activities by the individual businesses, and act as resource for the businesses for special projects
- Manage and perform Post Entry Audits and export shipment audits, and ongoing compliance reviews of the businesses
- Oversee implementation and submission of Value Reconciliation processing and reporting.

Your Profile:
Knowledge:
- 5+ years of experience and a strong knowledge of trade compliance, customs regulations, and international trade agreements.
- Past experience analyzing and working with Free Trade Agreements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite(Excel, PowerPoint & Word) as well as trade compliance software
- Experience with ACE data and duty drawback processes
- HTS/Schedule B code classification knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of US, MX, and CA import/export rules, regulations, and processes
- Understanding of supply chain processes and the relationship to trade compliance
- Understanding of domestic and international transportation processes
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Additional Languages are preferred
- US Work Permit required
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
- Broker's license preferred but not required
- Certification in Customs Compliance (CUSECO, CCS, or similar).
- Familiarity with C-TPAT, EAR, ITAR, and other trade compliance programs.
- Experience with ACE data and duty drawback processes.
