OVERVIEW:The Tower foreman supervises and performs construction duties on a daily basis on telecommunication sites. Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete the scope of work assigned. Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned jobs timely and safely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead and direct a crew of 2-4 members.
- Provides suggestions and recommendations for hiring, firing, and training of employees.
- Provides suggestions and recommendations for employee advancements, compensation, promotions, production, efficiency, or other status changes.
- Full understanding of a job or project scope of work (SOW).
- Full understanding of method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform the assigned job/project. Ability to write a detailed MOP.
- Schedules employee work and work hours for assigned employees.
- Directs and plans the work of assigned employees.
- Determines proper project techniques for assigned employees.
- Maintains job records for use in managing or control.
- Work with Superintendent or Construction Manager to determine materials, equipment, and tools to be used for assigned projects.
- Reads, interprets, and builds according to design site plans and layouts.
- Controls the flow and distribution of materials and supplies.
- Plans and controls the job budgets.
- Manages all data in Betacom tools (Site Manager) and customer tools.
- Ensures safety and security of employees and company assets.
- Performs inspection of entire installs. Troubleshoots problems with installs. Captures and provides closeout packages.
- Participates and assists in handling employee complaints and grievances according to company policy and lawfully.
- Participates and assists in handling employee discipline and probation according to company policy and lawfully.
- Takes full responsibility for crew safety. Ensures crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements. Inspects all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use.
- Reports any workers' comp injuries or other incidents.
- Other closely related work may include physical tasks and menial tasks such as timesheet and other recordkeeping, completing Job Safety Analysis, adjusting equipment and tools.
- Knows the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
- Certification with all test equipment (Anritsu sweep gear, PIM gear, fiber testing, etc.).
- Experienced with custom tower rigging techniques.
- Experienced with all manners of troubleshooting e.g., RET's, GPS antenna system, RF noise floor, TMA gain, tower light systems, VSWR, microwave systems, etc.).
- Proficient with the completion of closeout packages.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Highly proficient with the knowledge, skills, and abilities in all aspects of telecommunication tower maintenance and construction areas. Ability to train and supervise other employees in the below areas:
- Climbing telecommunications towers
- Rigging telecommunications towers
- Installation and modifying sector mounts, T-Booms, platforms, and banding of monopoles.
- Installing, testing, and repairing of antennas, TMA's, diplexers, duplexers, and surge arrestors.
- Installation and testing of all grounding of tower components to include ground rings for tower, shelter, equipment pads and compound.
- Installation and testing of coax and elliptical cable.
- Installation, testing, and repairing of tower light systems.
- Installation if Ice Bridges.
- Sweeping test all lines and equipment, operating sweep test software, reading results and sending to customers.
- PIM testing all lines and equipment, operate PIM test software, reading results and sending to customers.
- Installing, commissioning, and testing RET systems.
- Using of GPS alignment tools.
- Installing, testing, path aligning and troubleshoot Microwave dishes.
- Installing, testing, and troubleshooting RRU/BBU equipment on towers.
- Other duties relating to telecommunication tower construction and maintenance.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and regulatory personnel.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years or more of related tower and construction experience and/or training.
- Good communication skills, reading and writing skills (English)
- Good computer skills. Knowledge and use of Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to accommodate out of town travel, if required.
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
- ComTrain, OSHA30, RF Awareness Training, First AID/CPR trained.
- Must have experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, tower mapping and antenna equipment.
- Must have experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.
- RF Awareness, replacement, and maintenance i.e., coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors, and weatherproofing
- Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to the Superintendent and/or Tower Construction Manager.
