Our work depends on a Topside Engineer joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities. At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Topside Engineer supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Aegis Command Decision (C&D) and Aegis Display System (ADS) are operational and available. Specific responsibilities include: Analyze the AEGIS ship topside design and electromagnetic interference / co-site interference in support of configuration changes to the ship and sites.
Report to the Senior Topside Engineer/Integrator.
Provide technical analysis, recommendations and analytical assessment for shipboard integration of weapons, sensors, antenna and HM&E equipment aboard ships and sites.
Participate in shipyard site surveys, development and implementation of operational controls to allow for safe in-port and near-land operation of radars.
Interpret results from EMC and RADHAZ testing to evaluate impacts of new system upgrades.
Support topside and electromagnetic analysis with use of 3D and electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools; and Assist in the resolution of topside design, installation or interference issues. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: A Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in the relevant field and 10+ years of experience in command and control engineering or related experience (or 15+ years of experience without a degree).
A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
