Job Title: Top Secret/SCI- Research and Development Program Security Manager Location: Springfield, VA Clearance Required: Top Secret (TS) with SCI Eligibility (Must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph if not already held) Are you ready to lead the charge in safeguarding cutting-edge technology for national security? Our Research and Technology Protection (RTP) team is seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Security Specialist to support our mission in the development and protection of advanced technologies within the NGA Research Offices and Pods. About Us: The RTP team provides expert security classification guidance and assessments for classified and controlled unclassified information related to GEOINT campaigns and program tools. We ensure the protection of critical national security information and technology from concept through transition to mission partners. As part of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in securing the future of national defense by identifying threats and vulnerabilities, while applying risk management processes to safeguard innovative technologies and programs. Key Responsibilities: Lead system security analysis and program documentation in support of RTP initiatives. Conduct in-depth risk assessments to identify and mitigate security threats to NGA's research programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish technical and security guidelines for new technologies and GEOINT tools. Develop tailored classification guidelines for specialized GEOINT programs and ensure compliance with DoD regulations. Provide expert advice on the protection of classified information, special security protocols, and industrial security. Coordinate with program managers and legal teams to identify export-controlled technologies. Brief and educate the NGA Research workforce on evolving security policies and foreign government relationships. Apply business intelligence and social network analysis to identify vulnerabilities in supply chains and research collaborations. Monitor and evaluate the maturity of technology and manufacturing ecosystems to safeguard critical components. Required Qualifications: 15+ years of experience in security, with 5-6 years in program security related to Research & Development (R&D). In-depth knowledge of Research and Technology Protection (RTP) and Program Protection (P2) planning. Familiarity with DoD security policies and guidelines, including DoDI 5200.1, DoDI 5200.48, DoDI 5230.24, and others. Proven experience in assessing and securing classified and controlled unclassified information. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Certifications such as Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC), or others Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Willingness to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph if not already held. Desired Qualifications: Experience with DOD-specific programs and initiatives. Why Join Us?
