Description

The ideal engineer for this role is comfortable working in a dynamic and creative team charged with exploring an uncharted and rapidly evolving domain. In this role, you will be responsible for shipping world-class user experiences and act as the voice of our end-users.

As a Tools and Automation Quality Assurance Engineer in the RealityKit Rendering QA team, you will support testing of RealityKit features related to 3D graphics and rendering both manually and building automation. You will be part of a team to drive the quality via extensive testing of user-facing features and systems by developing test plans, conducting user studies, bug triaging, and working closely with development and program management teams for various Apple platforms.

You will be responsible for setting the bar high, going beyond to ensure a great experience and helping ship robust and amazing products. You'll need to take an active role in shaping the quality of our software. In this role, you should be able to identify the gaps in the existing test coverage for features and close them by building new cases and automation, keeping long-term focus in mind.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Professional experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Experience in creating test plans, submitting bug reports and providing relevant data for quality reporting
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools
  • Familiarity with software programming languages such as Python or Swift
  • Exposure to augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) devices and applications
  • Proactive self-starter with a keen eye for details with focus on end-user experiences and ability to go above and beyond to ensure a high quality release
  • Ability to drive cross-functional communications
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or minimum of 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge about computer graphics and rendering
  • Familiarity of Apple ecosystem and family of devices
  • Ability to design user-studies and perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Familiarity with game engines and platforms such as Unity, Unreal
  • Experience of using XCUITest and Swift programming language
  • Experience identifying automation requirements and designing solutions to address test execution challenges
  • Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $117,800 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
