This is an independent Toolmaker role that offers a non-micromanaged environment, where you will work directly from engineering blueprints to craft precision tooling. What you will do as a Tool and Die Maker:
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints to fabricate precision tooling.
- Operate and maintain manual lathes, mills, and surface grinders
- Work independently to create new fixtures, molds, and dies while also improving existing tooling.
- Use precision measuring equipment to ensure high-quality standards.
- Assist in training team members on equipment operations.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot and refine tooling designs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Key Experience:
- 10+ years of experience as a Toolmaker in the metal manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of manual machining operations including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
- Proficiency in precision measuring tools and blueprint reading.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or BobCAM is a plus.
- Background in tool fabrication for gear production is highly preferred.
- Willingness to train and mentor others on equipment as needed.
- Flexibility to bring personal tools (company can provide tools or assist with acquiring them through a payment program).
