Tooling Engineer
Relocation May Be Offered
This position coordinates with all disciplines required as directed by the General Manager and Director of Operations.
The Engineer takes the lead in executing projects to meet cost targets, implementation timetables, production support requirements, and field problems with products under his/her control.
The Engineer is to use his/her ability and background knowledge to implement development of conceptual information into new processes and improvement of existing processes.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; and 5 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Preferred:
• Experience in the metal stamping industry, deep draw
• Tooling and Fixture Design
• Machinist
• Process Engineering/Sheet Metal Assembly
• Spot / Projection / Mig Welding
• Automation, robotics, vision systems - Mechatronics
• ISO/IATF Quality Management Systems
• Continuous Improvement Events, Lean Manufacturing Concepts
• APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong Leadership skills, the ability to influence and motivate others
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
• Computer Skills - Ability to use Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks a plus
Additional Competencies:
• Ability to visualize read and interpret 3D CAD data.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D automotive drawings.
• Understanding of CAD and CAE principles.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
• Self-starter who works with little or no direct supervision
