About the Tool Room Attendant Role
The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for the selection and packing of tool and material orders from inventory, processing tool and hardware orders, restocking materials, inspecting tools for safe and proper operation, performing minor tool repairs, and assisting support staff with special projects and events. This position operates in a fast-paced work environment with minimal downtime and requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. What You'll Do
  • Inspect returned tools and equipment for damage or wear
  • Clean and perform necessary repairs to ensure tools are in working condition
  • Coordinate third-party repairs as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor
  • Prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pickup of tools and materials
  • Load, secure, and unload cargo to ensure safe transportation
  • Properly tag and stage items for field delivery
  • Re-box, crate, or palletize items as needed to protect them during transport
  • Communicate foreman's tool and equipment needs management proactively
  • Follow established guidelines and instructions to perform job functions effectively
  • Operate forklifts and stackers safely and obtain JCC certification to do so
  • Restock returned tools and materials to maintain an organized inventory
  • Identify and properly handle damaged equipment or packaging
  • Distribute packages daily across the campus
  • Assist support staff with special projects and events
  • Actively promote and enforce the Safety Program, policies, and procedures
  • Actively promote and enforce the goals of a Zero Injury Program
  • Respond to tool inquiries from team members via phone and email
  • Provide updates on orders and scheduling changes to ensure smooth operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Team
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of tool room/warehouse experience required
  • Knowledge of construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to identify, inspect, and manage inventory effectively
  • Experience operating a forklift (certification required upon hiring)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with cellular and GPS devices for tracking and communication
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple divisions of the company
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs while maintaining efficiency

Physical Requirements

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required tosit, stand for prolong periods of time,walkthe warehouse, regularly climb stairways, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The position may requirelifting and/or movingup to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Due to the environmental conditions of a working warehouse, there is sufficient noise that may cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise levels.
