A comprehensive multi-services organization in New York City is currently seeking a CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA) to join one of their growing facilities in Queens.

About the Opportunity:
•   Setting: Article 16 Clinic
•   Schedule: Monday to Friday
•   Hours: 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm
•   Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
•   EMR: PrecisionCare Responsibilities: The CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA) will:
•  Reviewmedical records and verifyMDs orders and the Occupational Therapists assessment prior to implementing OT treatment
•  Communicatewith supervisor regarding persons receiving services in the areas of cognitive/perceptual skills, sensor-motor, musculoskeletal status, CNS status, the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment needs (e.g., ADL devices).
•  Conferwith Physician and other Healthcare Practitioners to obtain additional information on persons receiving services
•  Writespecific, objective, and measurable documentation, which is outcome oriented and details the persons receiving services needs, potential to benefit from treatment, and progress achieved to date
•  Providetraining to persons receiving services, families and/or direct care staff in specific supportive programs
•  Participateand attendcare plan/team meetings as needed for persons receiving OT services
•  Implementa treatment plan, includingROM, therapeutic exercise, cognitive/perceptual re-training, ADL, wheelchair mobility, pre-vocational skills, and application of physical agent modalities
•  Handle other duties, as needed Qualifications:
•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant school
•  NYS CertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA)license
•  Knowledge in the use of mobility devices and therapeutic exercises
•  Microsoft Office proficient
•  Great interpersonal skills
•  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
•  Strong attention to detail
•  Highly organized Desired Skills:
•  Experience with wheelchair assessment
•  Experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
