Job Description:

We're excited to share an opportunity for a Textile Colorist with a well established and experienced print converter and fabric manufacturer with over 15 years in the contemporary fashion industry.


This is a permanent on-site full time role for a detail-oriented candidate who will support the Design Manager in the development and approval of colors for fabrics and prints. In this role, you will work closely with designers, mills, and production teams to ensure color accuracy from concept through final production.


Ideal candidates must have advanced Adobe Photoshop skills and strong communication skills that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment to provide high quality print files with a quick turnaround time.


Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review and revise print strike-offs, lab dips, and bulk color submissions.
  • Maintain color standards and ensure color consistency across fabrics.
  • Work with vendors and mills to achieve desired color matches.
  • Track color development timelines and sample approvals.
  • Communicate with design and production teams about color updates.
  • Organize and prepare artwork files for vendor capability by creating repeat tiles, color separation, and print packages
  • Assist in developing and modifying textile prints (i.e. change in scale, screen/color reduction, adjust motif layout)
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management

Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Possess advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop and basic Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Strong understanding of color and print layouts
  • Must be highly organized and time-oriented, capable of efficiently completing multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
  • Must have strong communication skills and the ability to follow up when needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high level of quality, detail and accuracy
  • Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of design experience working in a similar role
  • Must have a degree in Textile Design, Graphic Design or equivalent experience
  • Advanced in Adobe Photoshop
  • Submit a portfolio with a focus in textile design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in textile, fashion, or color development.
  • Experience with a drawing tablet
  • Strong eye for color and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Pantone and other color matching systems.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.

Benefits & Salary:

  • Starting at $52,000-$72,000 Annual, DOE
