REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE: Maintain our testing platform and the design, implementation and repair of tests and fixtures to meet customer requirements while supporting production. This position will also help to drive/support continuous improvement efforts within the testing work center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain Testing dashboard.
  • Create and maintain harness tests and fixtures based on customer drawings and specifications.
  • Create and improve testing fixtures from the manufacturer and custom 3D printed fixtures.
  • Understand and maintain testing software and equipment.
  • Support production by troubleshooting testing issues and making repairs as needed.
  • Work with production to identify testing constraints and improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement projects.
  • Understanding of engineering documents: bill of materials, job routings, ECO's, DRF's and process improvement forms.
  • Knowledge of quality and lean manufacturing.
  • Assist with training.
  • Have working knowledge of, and know how to navigate, the ERP system and engineering databases.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
  • Comply with UL and IPC Standards.
In addition, may also be responsible for a variety of tasks as needed by our ongoing business and company requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience, Competencies and Education
    1. Must possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
    2. High school diploma or GED required.
    3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret the documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
  • Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
  • Reasoning Ability
Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.

REQUIRED COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • General internet and computer use
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Three to five years of cable assembly/wire harness experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, UL, ISO.
  • Experience with hands on process improvements and implementation of Lean principles.
