The mission of the Lone Wolf program is to support, operate, and maintain the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES) which is a DoD-provided, TS/SCI, integrated voice, video, and data, global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Test Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform comprehensive testing on all hardware and software releases, including evaluating new features, assessing enhancements, identifying vulnerabilities, and verifying the resolution of bugs and defects to ensure overall functionality and performance
Collaborate closely with hardware vendors to evaluate and plan for the next generation of devices, ensuring that upgrades and replacements are identified and implemented before current devices reach their end-of-life phase
Manage and oversee the patching process by applying Microsoft Security Updates, as well as updating drivers and firmware, while thoroughly verifying their functionality to maintain system security and performance are maintained
Configure Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and conduct thorough testing to ensure their proper functionality and compliance on IT systems, verifying that security requirements are met, and system integrity is maintained
Assess and analyze various automated test tools and strategies, providing informed recommendations for the most suitable solutions, and then overseeing their implementation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes
Develop, implement, and carry out comprehensive test and evaluation procedures, ensuring that all system requirements are thoroughly assessed and met, while verifying the system's performance, functionality, and compliance with specified standards
Conduct thorough testing of peripherals, including printers, laptops, desktops, switches, routers, VoIP phones, scanners, and KVM switches, to evaluate their compatibility and seamless integration across a wide range of products from multiple vendors, ensuring reliable performance and interoperability
Perform comprehensive testing of next-generation servers, workstations, and laptops to assess their compatibility and seamless integration with our existing baseline software, ensuring that they meet performance, functionality, and interoperability standards
Develop detailed test plans, test reports, "as-built" guides, and deployment guides, ensuring all documentation is thorough and well-organized. Provide regular status updates to program government leads, presenting the information in a Configuration Control Board (CCB) format for clarity and transparency
Monitor and track key test execution milestones, ensuring that progress is accurately recorded. Identify and report any issues or risks that may arise, analyzing their potential impact on project timelines and taking proactive measures to mitigate delays or disruptions
Act as a subject matter expert, offering specialized testing knowledge and expertise to support user requirements for complex to highly complex hardware applications, ensuring that all testing processes are aligned with user needs and industry standards
Demonstrate creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements
Work closely with fellow engineers throughout the entire process of planning, designing, developing, and testing new technologies, ensuring seamless collaboration to create innovative solutions that meet both technical and user requirements
Analyze various alternative courses of action, conducting thorough research and evaluation to assess their potential impact, and provide well-informed recommendations based on solid evidence and strategic considerations to guide decision-making
Collaborate with product owners to gain a deep understanding of the desired capabilities and functionalities of applications, while identifying and defining key testing scenarios to ensure that the product meets both user expectations and technical requirements Requirements: Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or the ability to acquire Top Secret/SCI
Must have at least 7 years of job-related experience
Experience with configuration management and software release cycles
Operational knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2019 Server, Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Active Directory and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Familiarity with the following Type 1 hypervisors and applications:
VMWare
Nutanix
Commvault
Trellix Antivirus Suite
Kiwi Syslog
Nessus Scanning Software
Splunk
Citrix Dell Wyse Management Suit
Experience testing and administering thin and zero clients
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, normally Monday through Friday
Ability to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime if needed
Ability to travel (5-10%) primarily within 75 miles
Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project and Visio
Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment Clearance Required:
Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI Minimum Education: High School Diploma Minimum Years of Experience: 7 years of relevant experience Required Certifications: Ability to meet or exceed DODD 8140/8570 IAT Level 2 requirements, to include CE certification
Must have or be able to obtain a Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) certification Preferred: Bachelor's degree in IT related field
Experience in COTS or GOTS Application Testing and Integration
Experience with Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
Experience with ServiceNow, VMware, or Nutanix
Understanding of Windows Infrastructure
Experience with ITIL
