Title:
Test Engineer Program Summary Program of Record Development, Limited Production, and Sustainment contract for TIGS (Tactical Integrated Ground Suite) including mobile SATCOM kits, training assets, and software development environment (SDE). TIGS is deployed at 1 OCONUS location, and 2 CONUS location. Job Summary Designs and develops test programs, processes, and systems to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services. Designs and builds test stations. Writes test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications. Gathers test data and evaluates the results of tests to determine if product designs and architecture meets customer specifications and performance expectations. Develops test simulations to evaluate how products react under different conditions and analyzes product failure to assess the integrity and reliability of product performance. Debugs test hardware and software. Analyzes test cases and scenarios and reports results. Collaborates with other engineering groups to improve or upgrade product performance Recognized as an expert within Group. Anticipates internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory/ compliance issues; recommends process, product or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems. Contributes to the development of job family or Group strategy. Mentors and advises project teams to achieve milestones and objectives. Progression to this level is typically restricted based on business requirements. Due to the complexity and uniqueness of the required skill set there are fewer incumbents at this level. Regarded as the technical expert in their discipline. Requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the job family. Anticipates customer and industry issues; recommends product, process or service improvements. Mentors and advises team members on projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution. Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions. Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general Divisional/Group policies and industry guidelines. Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to influence decisions. May have formal, but limited, supervision of team members at a department level to include verification of time cards, oversight of daily tasks/schedules and input into performance appraisals. May have resource responsibility such as staffing levels and budgets. May be the primary customer contact for assigned area of responsibility. Roles and Responsibilities
• Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements with minimal supervision of the lead systems engineer
• Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)
• Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Supports the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedule, budget and equipment required for testing and evaluating new systems, products and special devices
• Executes the test approach and document system verification throughout the engineering development lifecycle
• Generates system test work products by applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools
• Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products
• Develops and conducts functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
• Isolates and documents issues and defects
• Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
• Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
• Provides leadership and/or direction to lower-level employees
• Leads technical tasks for small teams or projects
• Begins to provide engineering support to proposals
• Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects
• Frequent contact with managers within and outside of Engineering Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in related field and typically require at least 10 years of related experience; or requires an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

• Proficiency with Digital Engineering and/or Model-Based Systems Engineering Salary Range: $128,940 - $193.410 The salary range posted is for Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity. Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
