Apply for this Job
BlueHalo, an AV comapny, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team in supporting the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Objective Simulation Framework (OSF). The ideal candidate will work within a team of engineers, developers, and system analysts to process and integrate a variety of Missile Defense System (MDS) scenario data (such as missile threat data, Radar Cross Section (RCS), Infrared (IR) signatures, environmental data, Cloud Object Debris (COD), and Kinetic Impact Debris Distribution (KIDD into configurations for OSF. These configurations are essential for supporting the interoperability and performance testing of MDA systems via both Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and digital simulations. You will be tasked with converting large data sets from various formats using scripts and specialized tools, translating test requirements into OSF configuration settings, and verifying the accuracy and integrity of generated configurations to ensure they meet the project's specifications. Collaboration will be key to success in this role, as you will work closely with Configuration Management (CM) teams, test lab personnel, test conductors, Event Mission Managers (EMMs), and other stakeholders. You will ensure that the final product aligns with the customer's requirements and mission objectives. This effort is event-driven and may require some overtime and/or off-shift hours. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt your work schedule to tight event timelines are essential. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with a team of engineers, developers, and analysts to process and integrate data into the OSF for MDS testing. Process large and complex data sets (including missile threat, RCS, IR, COD, KIDD) in various formats using scripts and tools for use within the OSF software. Translate Scenario Matrix and test requirements into OSF configuration settings. Perform checkout and analysis of generated configurations, verifying all requirements are met and data inputs correlate back to the original input data. Work closely with Configuration Management (CM), test lab personnel, test conductors, EMMs, and other MDA stakeholders to deliver mission-ready products. Adapt work schedule to meet tight timelines for event-driven efforts, which may include overtime and/or off-shift hours. This effort is event-driven and may require some overtime and/or off-shift hours. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt your work schedule to tight event timelines are essential. Experience navigating both Linux/Unix command-line environments and standard office software (Microsoft Office or equivalents for Linux/Unix). Essential for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities, and ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the required standard. Ability to learn and use specialized MDA test framework software for processing input data, configuring tests, troubleshooting, analyzing results, and generating reports. Clear and effective communication skills for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as collaborating with team members and presenting findings. 3-5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in software management, development, and testing. Experience with radar systems used in missile defense. Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL for managing and querying large data sets. Proficiency in writing scripts or code in languages such as C , Python, Java, or Perl for data analysis, scripting, and software development. Previous experience with MDA or missile defense systems is highly desirable. Desired Experience Experience in integrating large datasets into simulation frameworks. Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and digital simulations in missile defense. Knowledge of data formats commonly used in missile defense system simulations. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and simulation.
