ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers using a collaborative, team-oriented sales approach.
  • Manage delivery schedules professionally by resolving any issues that may arise during the order process, such as mis-picks or stock-outs.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to collect accounts receivable, collaborating closely with the credit department as needed.
  • Utilize market intelligence and business directories to identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
  • Stay updated on market conditions, product innovations, and competitor offerings, sharing valuable insights with customers.
  • Travel frequently to meet with current and prospective customers, ensuring timely product delivery and handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
SUPERVISION: No direct reports.

RELATIONSHIPS
  • Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.
  • External: Customers, vendors, and prospective customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position requires frequent outdoor work, engaging with customers in varying weather conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ year of sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively.
  • Capability to build relationships and conduct cold calls to secure new clients.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Results-driven with a competitive spirit and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools like Salesforce is preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
