ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Build and maintain strong relationships with customers using a collaborative, team-oriented sales approach.
- Manage delivery schedules professionally by resolving any issues that may arise during the order process, such as mis-picks or stock-outs.
- Effectively communicate with clients to collect accounts receivable, collaborating closely with the credit department as needed.
- Utilize market intelligence and business directories to identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
- Stay updated on market conditions, product innovations, and competitor offerings, sharing valuable insights with customers.
- Travel frequently to meet with current and prospective customers, ensuring timely product delivery and handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
SUPERVISION: No direct reports.
RELATIONSHIPS - Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.
- External: Customers, vendors, and prospective customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The position requires frequent outdoor work, engaging with customers in varying weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - 1+ year of sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively.
- Capability to build relationships and conduct cold calls to secure new clients.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Results-driven with a competitive spirit and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools like Salesforce is preferred.
