Major, Lindsey & Africa's Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for Temporary to Permanent Private Funds Paralegal


Overview: We are looking for a Private Funds Paralegal


Company: Alternative Asset Management Company


Experience: Minimum of 6 years, private funds paralegal experience


Location: Hybrid NYC


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recordkeeping and document management (iManage)
  • Draft formation and dissolution documents, organizational/structure charts, annual reports, amendments to organizational documents, assignments and resolutions, and prepare responses to KYC/AML requests
  • Prepare and update project plans for asset management and/or regulatory compliance mandates
  • Provide bi-weekly updates on active projects through an asset management tracker
  • Assist with fund/SMA and investment checklists
  • Assist with review of subscription agreements
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal execution of signature pages (wet ink or e-signature)
  • Manage and maintain internal resource database
  • Maintain compliance calendar
  • Assist with brokerage accounts setup and coordination with employees and brokerage firms
  • Conduct initial reviews of service provider agreements and confidentiality agreements
  • Provide additional support to asset management activities and assist with various ad hoc projects and reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 6 years' private funds paralegal experience
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing and word processing skills
  • Strong active listening skills to understand needs and concerns of stakeholders and support positive outcomes
  • Strong client focus with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple, diverse projects concurrently
  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity and judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF applications
  • Familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems, and ComplySci or similar Compliance systems a plus
  • Ability to leverage technology to create efficiencies and streamline processes
