Hiring Agency: Game & Parks Commission - Agency 33 Location: Crofton, NE Hiring Rate: $20.386 Job Posting: JR1032 Temporary Park Superintendent I (Open) Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed): Job Description: JOB DUTIES: Under the direction of the Park Superintendent will assist in supervising and perform technical and practical work supporting management, conservation, preservation, interpretation, development and use of park areas and resources. Supervise and carry out various operating tasks involved in historical and recreational programming, campgrounds, trails, partnerships, day use operations and maintenance, grounds keeping, housekeeping, education, equipment maintenance, special events, collections management, coordinate with park concessions and marina store, emergency response and accident prevention. Hire, train and supervise seasonal workforce. Represent recreation area, historical site, and agency through public outreach, news releases, public concerns, and educational programming. Perform and oversee fee and permit sales and other office operations including computer operations and programming. Maintain records and prepare appropriate reports. Assist with agency special events and projects at Lewis and Clark SRA and other district/agency locations. Serve as on call basis when park superintendent is absent. Perform other duties as required. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation or interpretation, travel and tourism, and planning) AND one year related experience. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Other: Driver's license is required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to plan, manage, analyze and evaluate park programs. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and application of park and cultural resources management and conservation. Knowledge of departmental rules and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain community and public relations with business, special interest groups, and state, local and federal agencies. Knowledge of park operations, administration and financial management. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to supervise subordinate staff and to enforce park rules and regulations. Ability to work weekends and holidays.
