Temporary Lower School Teacher Aide

Position Summary

Job Description:
York Country Day School is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to join our well-established Early Childhood team. The Teacher Aide maintains and contributes to an exceptional learning environment for students aged 2 1/2 through 4 years. The Teacher Aide participates fully in the life of the school, including collaborating with the team in a mission-driven environment.

Outcome:
Looking for an experienced, highly qualified, and energetic teacher aide as an addition to the YCDS Lower School faculty for the school year.

Essential Functions

The Lower School Teacher aide will be responsible for working with students ages 2 1/2 to 4 years old.

The following are the responsibilities associated with this position:

Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe classroom environment

Giving individual and small group lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher

Supervising the playground

Attending to the logistical aspects of the classroom and assisting the Lead Teacher in student activities

Assisting with creating materials

Experience and Education Required

High School diploma or higher

2 to 5 years of experience working with young children in a school setting

Experience assisting in a classroom

Required Skills and Qualifications

Support young children in their daily activities with kindness and patience

Ability to carry out activities with children to help develop their fine and gross motor skills

A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth and personal development
