Kutztown University is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Department of Music as an instructor for our Live Audio course. This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in live sound engineering, including setting up and operating sound systems for live performances. Responsibilities include among others, teaching practical instruction on microphone placement, signal flow, and troubleshooting, guiding students through real-world scenarios and live sound setups, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, and evaluating student performance while providing constructive feedback
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Music, Audio Engineering or a related field and professional experience in live audio production is required.
A candidate is required to successfully complete the interview process including demonstration of teaching and live audio mixing.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree is highly preferred. A strong knowledge of sound reinforcement, mixing consoles, and live event audio management, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and prior teaching experience at the college level are preferred.
