LHH is recruiting a temporary litigation paralegal for a Chicago law firm. This is a 3-6 month assignment. On-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions for filings in state and federal court
  • Assist in the preparation of deposition notices and deposition materials
  • Organize and maintain case files, including indexing and filing documents
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel for interviews and depositions
  • Track and manage discovery, including document productions and e-discovery
  • Manage deadlines and ensure timely filing of court documents, including e-filing

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year degree and paralegal certificate preferred; may substitute work experience for education level
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm setting (defense side)
  • Strong knowledge of state courts and federal court rules and procedures
  • MUST have experience with all aspects of pre-trial preparation and trial support, including trial support software (Trial Director or similar program)
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, and document management and document review systems (Westlaw, iManage, and Nuix/fka Ringtail strongly preferred)
  • Experience with document production and discovery
  • Proficiency in case preparation from start to finish, and the understanding of a paralegal's role in the litigation life cycle

Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
