Job Summary

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.

The Department of Biology invites applications for one full-time temporary faculty position to teach introductory biology courses for majors and/or nonmajors and is interested in teaching a lab in a core class in botany for the Fall and Spring of the 2025-26 academic year. Preference will be given to applicants whose area of teaching expertise fits the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Required: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Biology or related field. One year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent is required. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities including continuing scholarly growth and service. There is the possibility of engaging in student/faculty research. A successful interview and demonstration of relevant teaching ability are required. Salary competitive.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. is highly preferred. Additional teaching experience in introductory biology for science majors or non-science majors is desirable.
