Description of Job

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is accepting resumes for a temporary position at the front desk in the Southeast Regional Office.

Primary job responsibilities include providing detailed information to our constituents on a wide range of topics that include, but are not limited to:

Information on fishing, provide hunting information for big game, small game, waterfowl and turkey by verbal and

written communication. Sell hunting, fishing and big game licenses, register boats, OHV's and snowmobiles and sell park passes.
  • Interpret Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) regulations, policies and State Statutes.
  • Address nuisance wildlife concerns and provide information on coexisting with wildlife.
  • Provide detailed information on State Parks, boating, hiking, etc.
  • Fill Hunter Education orders and check harvested animals at the check station.
  • Sort daily mail and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a current & valid drivers' license or reliable transportation
  • Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather.
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience with hunting, fishing, wildlife, camping and Colorado geography is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work with the general public in person, by phone and email
  • Familiar with Colorado Parks and Wildlife's website
  • Possess a strong knowledge of computer fundamentals including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Dependable team player
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced setting
  • Recent college graduates with a Natural Resources degree preferred
  • Previous experience handling money and working with the public preferred.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Basic computer skills required (MS Office Suite, Google App Suite)
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • The work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.
  • Successful completion and passing of background screening may be required for placement in this position
