Duties/Responsibilities

Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. Circulate incoming mail and packages

Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities

Scan file documents and upload in to a database into the computer systems; Follow policies and confidentiality to safeguard data and information.Sort all new files alphabetically.

Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities

Archive or delete outdated records according to the USG policy on retention of files.

Percentage of time 60 Duties/Responsibilities

Sort, categorize and store physical grant documentation (invoices, proposals and contracts) electronic files in a systematic way.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

This position will serve as an assistant to the Unit Lead and oversees daily operations of the Entomology Department and interacts with staff. The employee receives specific work instructions at the beginning of each new job and work is usually closely supervised; however, constant supervision is not necessary as many tasks are routine and repetitive and can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

A minimum requirement of high school or equivalent combination of education and two years of office experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; attention to detail; excellent organizational skills.

Physical Demands

Bend and lift at least 10-15 pounds. Sitting and standing for long periods. Driving.
