DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT:This is a non-exempt, temporary, part-time position, limited to 1,300 hours annually, under supervision of the Administrative Technician. The position is a clerical position within the Parks and Recreation Department. Strong customer service skills, clerical skills, including computer usage, phone etiquette, filing, office equipment operation, professional attire, and communication skills are required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Customer Service: Greets the public and answers questions, responds to inquiries from staff and customers.
- Reception/front counter responsibilities which will include the use of a computerized cash register, making change, issuing receipts for program registrations, issuing park permits, explaining departmental procedures to citizens, accepting documentation such as application paperwork, and directing citizens to the proper department for the required services.
- Use of a computer system and necessary software to perform queries for information.
- Provides excellent customer service by being friendly, tactful, professional and courteous.
- Answers a multi-line telephone system, screens and directs calls to the appropriate party, assists customers with various issues, and takes complete and accurate messages.
- Assists staff with routine clerical tasks as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- May perform the duties of similar classifications of an equal or lower pay grade.
Physical Requirements: - Must have the ability to lift and move files and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Work is sedentary and done in a seated position, but requires frequent moving about, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching or stooping to perform filing.
- Position requires the ability to input large amounts of data using repetitive motion on a frequent and prolonged basis.
- The incumbent must be able to hear all communication from customers and employees by telephone or in person, and use vision to work with written documents, forms, and to respond to employees and customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to accurately count and handle money.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Ability to work successfully with and provide good customer service to supervisors, other City employees, the public and other agencies and organizations.
- Ability to perform all the job duties in a safe manner.
- Ability to learn the skills required to operate a computer and its software programs to accept payments, register program participants, and perform queries.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system while taking complete and accurate messages.
- Able to follow directions, be a quick thinker, dependable and show good safety awareness and judgment.
- Ability to work a flexible 24 hour work week with the possibility of an occasional 40 hour work week.
- Ability to multi task.
- Knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the (lower position) classification.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times as to both dress and personal hygiene.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:In addition to the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above, this position requires the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proven customer service skills.
- A high school diploma, GED, or higher education.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: - May be required to work in a seated position for extended periods of time in a highly structured environment.
- Will be required to move about the building frequently.
- The successful candidate for this position must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards as established by the City of Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department.
All required licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout the term of employment. Failure to obtain or maintain licenses and certifications may result in demotion or termination.
Due to Federal and State Criminal Justice System access requirements, classifications that access and maintain criminal justice information may also be required, as a condition of employment, to not have been convicted of and/or have pending charges of a felony or misdemeanor crime that would deny or otherwise restrict access to criminal justice information. City of Pueblo Temporary and Seasonal Employee Sick Leave Benefits Beginning January 1, 2021, all employers in Colorado are required to provide paid sick leave to employees under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act ("HFWA"). Said leave is accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours.
Per the Act, leave may be used for any of the following reasons:
- The employee has a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; needs a medical diagnosis, care, or treatment related to such illness, injury, or condition; or needs to obtain preventive medical care.
- The employee needs to care for a family member who has a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; needs a medical diagnosis, care, or treatment related to such illness, injury, or condition; or needs to obtain preventive medical care.
- The employee or family member has been the victim of domestic abuse, sexual assault, or harassment and needs to be absent from work for purposes related to such crime; or
- A public official has ordered the closure of the school or place of care of the employee's child or of the employee's place of business due to a public health emergency, necessitating the employee's absence from work.
Consistent with the HWFA, part-time temporary and seasonal employees of the City shall not carry forward more than forty-eight (48) hours of unused sick leave from one year to the next.

City employment as a temporary or seasonal employee means that the most you can expect to work is 1300 hours in a calendar year. Depending on the work schedule required by the hiring department, this means more time to spend with your family and/or doing other activities.
