Telecommunications Technician (Gen)

12 Months Description:
Primary location of assignment: 1- Central and Southern Va - Richmond- Tri Cities
2- Eastern/Hampton Roads Va
3- Northern Va - Woodbridge, Springfield
4- Western Va - Blue Ridge
Candidate must have the following hand tools: - Standard screw drivers
- Socket/Rachet set
- Small drill
- Needle nose pliers, standard pliers/channel lock
- Standard wrench set
- Adjustable wrench/crescent wrench
Top Required Skills
1) 2+ years demonstrated experience with - Two-way Radio, cellular network equipment, automotive installation
2) MUST have hands on working knowledge of DC voltage as it relates to power distribution within vehicles along with associated grounding and connection requirements
3) Knowledge/Experience with basic hand tools and the associated safety requirements
4) Must be able to lift 45 pounds alone
5) Must be able to see color and distinguish between colors.
6) Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Note: Best candidates will be those with a Electrical/Mechanical/Electronic background

• Basic IOS device knowledge
High Level Project Overview:
In your role as a Mobile Data Installation Technician you will apply your basic knowledge of cellular, two way radio communications, and automotive knowledge to perform installation, testing and repair of IT equipment in company vehicles.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
• Installation of wireless routers, computer pedestals, docking stations, and the associated power components and antenna cabling.
• Installation, programing, and testing of mobile two-way radio equipment
• Decommissioning and removal of IT equipment from vehicles.
• Effectively identify and utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments.
Preferred Years of Experience:
• Minimum 2+ years experience hands on in a similar role
Education:
• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Associate degree and 3 years of related work experience or, military experience with 5 years of demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
